Yes, I am delinquent with my blog postings! Apparently I am no better at this than I am at returning email or voicemail...but in this case, no news is good news. Rob has been steadily improving over the last few days, to the point that his lungs are now almost completely clear. We were able to dial the oxygen back substantially, which is a huge milestone!! He's still not feeling great, as the antibiotics and pain meds have really messed with his stomach. But we're a long way from where we were a week or two weeks ago, and that's a direct result of his positive attitude and iron will. Of course all the prayers and good wishes helped too, so thank you for keeping us in your thoughts.
So...Happy Friday everyone! Enjoy your weekend and I promise to do better with my updates next week.
Love,
L

Greetings my brother, isn't it amazing that even when you are fighting pneumonia and als at the same time, it just proves that the more things change, also the more they stay the same. Even when you are fighting for your life, you still appreciate a good poop. It must be a sign that you are getting better when dumping has taken priority over breathing. Your wife said it best, your iron will prevails. I am proud of your ability to face this challenge with dignity, courage and humour. I am communicating with you from my toilet. Just like
ReplyDeletewe have been doing since the 80s. I still remember you walking proudly down college blvd. With your plunger in your hand, not ashamed but Proud. Love you my brother. Boogie
Nicely stated Bogdan! Always great to remember the old times and have some laughs. Hope you're feeling even better today with the nice weather we've had the past few days. Look forward to sharing a few more laughs soon!

Just checking in. After reading these wonderful comments, I'm reminded that Rob's mantra--"Be a man for others"--has paid off richly. So many of you "others" have expressed your love and support that I know he feels truly blessed. Keep the good vibes coming--they're working!
ReplyDeletekeep up the good progress. The sun is shining on ya and its time for all of us to get out together. My family prays for you daily. Ray

I am sorry I couldn't hang out with big Bob this past weekend. I would have risked divorce if I missed our lamaze class and neither my wife or Linda are so naive that left alone, despite Bobs recent setback we would not have found a way to get into trouble. There is no force on this world that can contain big Bob, only temporarily slow him down. His spirit and strength extend far beyond the confines of his room. His ability to inspire, help others and to create mischief is boundless. No disease can limit his ability to motivate and create. Which is the mark of a truly great man. And the fact that despite getting this horrible disease he still appreciates life and feels blessed is the miracle of his existence. I love you my brother.
