"Every day is a good day"...one of Rob's favorite sayings. We're having a good day today, enjoying the sunshine and the company of his favorite nurse's aid, Carol. I've learned to administer all the breathing treatments and meds, and so far, he's resting comfortably. I read all the blog postings to him and he really enjoyed hearing everyone's comments. As much as I hate electronic communication, it's been a blessing to be able to stay connected with friends and family all across the country.
A huge thanks to everyone who has delivered food and treats to the house -- my thank you notes are slow in coming, but please know that every bit is appreciated. We are well stocked for now (and into the future)...the kids feel like we have our own Golden Corral buffet. Robby asked last night, "mom, is it always like this when someone is sick?" It was one of those memorable moments that allowed me to talk about how special his dad is, and how wonderful it is to have loving family and friends.
More soon, keep the good thoughts coming our way. Love, L

  2. I love the pic, too, especially Rob's dainty ankles. They always crack me up. I'll be showering in the outdoor shower this evening, by the way. Hugs, Kim (and Eric, too)

  3. ALL our love from all five Sweeney's to all five Willson's. We watch your lights at night and hope for such good things. We love you guys and are here for whatever you might need. Hank tells me "Mr. Willson looks good, mom." I'm going to come over this week to plant a big wet kiss on him--in person. But for now, Big Bob, just close your eyes and dream while you get stronger!! Send any or all kids over at any time. We're thinking of you constantly! ALL of you. Love, Greg & Kelly and the three kiddos.

  6. Bob, the picture reminds me of the day this summer you got me going on the rugby thing. I was all excited and knowing nothing about the sport, I came home that night all excited and told Amanda and Jon (on separate occasions) about how Jordan should try rugby. Amanda said, "Mom, are you crazy? that's like football without pads, who told you that?" and I said "Bob," and she started to laugh. Then I later told Jon that Jordan should try it and he said, "are you crazy, who told you that"? That time I laughed and said "Bob." :) Gotta love ya, Bob. And we do!!! :) You're the greatest!!!

  7. Lindy, Very glad to see the blog! I did not know, but I had a feeling that something was wrong, and I was afraid to call, meant to all weekend and earlier. I sent Bob an e-mail some time ago and hadn't heard back from him. Anyway, glad to hear that he is home and getting stronger. I think of you guys all the time, sorry no food from NJ! Love, Linda

  9. Hello Large Robert,
Keep fighting the good fight and know that we're all with you. Open the window at least once a day and take a breath of the outside air. Linda, keep that frying pan next to the door for when Franklin comes around...

  10. Big Bob and Linda,
Keep fighting the good fight, brother! You are a mountain of a man! Still counting on you to do my induction, should I be fortunate enough to join you in the HOF.
Linda, thank you for doing this - I know you've been overwhelmed - it's tough for all of us who love you two to know what's going on and how to help. I think this is a great idea. I'd love to come by and visit. Are there good or bad times? Please let me know.
Thinking about you both all the time and looking forward to catching up soon.
    Love,
    Jim King

  12. Bob,

Missed you in Vegas, but we knew you were there in spirit with us! The W/L results weren't great, but you would have been proud to see how we rallied around the Brotherhood and stood up to the established powers and their ringers.

When my legs were running out of gas, I looked down at my Big Bob wristband and could hear you urging me on - as you've always done - and I pushed it harder. When I got put on the ground hard, I knew you would get up so I got up - and then I smiled at the guy.

You, Linda, and the kids are an inspiration. You're in our thoughts and prayers big guy.

  14. For the last couple of years I have tried to begin each day the same way.
I think of 5 things that I am grateful for before I allow myself to get out of bed...
as you may imagine, some days I am staring at the ceiling for awhile.
It has however, allowed me to begin my day in a state of "grace".
Having another day (like today) with the "Big Boy", and his big smile, strong brown eyes, and a loving hug is always at the top of my list.
    Love you Rob,
    Pat

  15. Bob - this is the "supervising editor" that BK recruited to assist with "And Now"

I was honored to play my small roll in helping out and sharing in your story. (Things would have gotten done faster if Brain and I knew how to use spellcheck!)

Just wanted to check in - say hello and let you know that your friends in low places(Brian)- have friends in low places(me) - and we are all in this scrum with you.

  16. Hi Big Bob! You are the biggest optimist that I ever met and you have my deepest respect AND LOTS OF LOVE for that....I'll never forget how "cute" you were sleeping on my lawn some years ago, I am hapy that I met your Dad and Pat tonight and we talked and talked, mostly about you and your wonderfull familly. Do you like Ricotta Fruit Pies? I'll order one tomorrow for you and your familly from a country bakery from Pensilvania (or was it New Jersey?...that I discovered two years ago. Take care, one day at the time and remember that "God has always more than one trump in his hands to perform yet another miracle!". Love you. Alex
